Established in 1968, South Snohomish County Youth Soccer Association (SSCYSA) is one of the original 4 associations in the Washington State Youth Soccer Association (WSYSA). With only three clubs (+TOPS) we are one of the smallest associations in the State and definitely the smallest in District 1. Geographically our association serves the same area as the Edmonds School District; Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Brier. Each year our clubs register approximately 2,100 kids from age 5 to 18 for teams from mod soccer to premier select soccer.

All player registration is initiated at the club level and reviewed by SSCYSA. Please see our "Clubs" page for links and more information regarding registration.

For the 2006 season we will begin organizing and supporting a TOPS program. Here's a brief definition of TOPS as shown on the WSYSA web site:

"The Outreach Program for Soccer, better known as TOPSoccer, , is a community based training and team placement program for differently-able players over 4 years of age, who have a mental or physical disability. Organized by youth soccer association volunteers, this unique program enables these special athletes to play at levels consistent with their skills, not necessarily their age." Coaches in SSCYSA have access to Tony Waiters' Byte Size Coaching web site where they can study and download practice plans for teams of all ages. Here's how Tony describes it on his web site:

"The Byte Size Coaching program is a customizable coaching website containing a balanced and progressive curriculum designed to benefit the players and coaches alike."

Help Raise Funds for Youth Soccer in Washington thru the WSYSA License Plate Program. Washington State Youth Soccer Association is developing a WSYSA Specialized License Plate. Proceeds from the sale and renewal of all WSYSA Specialized License Plates will be used for Field Development, TOPSoccer, Soccer Start and Financial Aid.
